From Atlanta to NYC: Gage Young’s Creative Evolution

Gage Young’s journey to becoming one of NYC’s most dynamic creatives started in Atlanta, Georgia, and took an intriguing detour to a small town in Florida. It was there that Gage discovered a passion for music, skate culture, and photography—a combination that would define their early years. “I made some skater friends and got into music that I probably wasn’t allowed to listen to,” Gage recalls. These early influences led to touring with bands on the Warped Tour circuit, capturing the raw energy of live performances through the lens. Working for record labels, magazines, and ad agencies, Gage honed their craft during a time when Flickr was the creative community hub for photographers. As Gage’s portfolio grew, so did his ambitions. The transition from capturing bands to working in the ad industry was seamless. Inspired to refine their skills further, Gage returned to Atlanta to attend The Creative Circus, a portfolio school with a focus on advertising. This decision set the stage for a decade-long career in the creative industry, ultimately bringing Gage to the bustling streets of NYC. Today, Gage’s work spans directing, shooting, editing, and creating—roles that demand both technical expertise and artistic vision. While the journey has been filled with exciting challenges, Gage’s love for collaborating with people remains a constant. “Working with people is both the best and the most challenging part of what I do,” Gage shares.

Beyond the aesthetics, however, it was the seamless experience provided by Cocoon that truly stood out. “The entire experience was super smooth,” Gage recalls. This level of service allowed Gage and their team to focus entirely on the creative process. “I had all the confidence that Cocoon was the exact service that I needed in the rolodex,” Gage adds.
