Community Makers: Spotlight on Evan Evagora at Casa Duende

The Magic of Adaptability in Film

The ability to pivot quickly is an essential skill in filmmaking, where schedules shift, weather changes, and unexpected challenges arise. No two shoots are the same, one day you’re working on an intimate scene in a quiet space, and the next, you’re coordinating a large-scale shoot with dozens of moving parts.

But the beauty of filmmaking, he notes, is that it’s a team effort. “Collaboration is a big part of the industry, and everyone’s collective work and input is never spoken about enough.” The best projects come from a shared vision, where every crew member plays a vital role in bringing a story to life. The camaraderie built on set is what makes each project unique and special.

Bringing a Dream Project to Life at Casa Duende

“The space was exactly what we were looking for in every sense of the word,” Evan recalls about Casa Duende. “It was massive, designed and styled in such a unique way. When I walked through the doors, I knew immediately this is where we had to film.” Serendipity played a role, too. It was almost eerie how “every part of the space matched our story. We unintentionally wrote our scenes for a space that already existed.”

Having the right atmosphere was crucial for the film’s emotional impact. Every shot needed to feel immersive. Casa Duende’s ambiance, from its architectural details to the lighting, elevated every frame.

With moody lighting and textured walls, Casa Duende offers a dynamic production space, adaptable for film, television, and editorial shoots.
