Think back to your last company holiday party — how many times have you quietly wished it felt just a little more connected, a little more meaningful? Maybe the playlist was great, but the conversations stayed surface-level. Maybe the food was solid, but the vibe… didn’t quite spark. If you’re planning a corporate holiday party and want to build real connections, you’re in the right place.
This year, let your party be more than just a buffet and background music. With the right holiday team building activities, you can make the celebration a catalyst for bonding, morale, and memories. And yes — that’s totally possible in Cocoon’s curated unconventional casas and Discovery Portfolio spaces.
Let’s dive in.
Team cheers are in full swing inside Casa FM, where the open layout creates the perfect backdrop for holiday toasts and shared wins.

Why Pair Celebration with Connection?
Before the list, let’s quickly cover why holiday team building activities are a smart move:
- Boost morale and retention — When employees feel seen, valued, and connected, they’re more likely to stay.
- Break down silos — The party is a rare moment when cross-functional folks (sales, ops, design, finance) mix.
- Memorable brand culture — If this party feels different, people talk about it, share pictures, and associate that energy with your culture.
- Subtle reinforcement of values — You can theme the activities to mirror your company values (creativity, trust, innovation).
So yes — you can skip the forgettable party and deliver something your whole team will talk about in Q1.
When scouting your venue, think about:
- Acoustics: Does the architecture enhance or interfere with your sound?
- Ambiance: Will the mood of the space reflect your message?
- Sound-Isolation: Can you create a clean sonic environment?
- Flexibility: Are there zones for different parts of the experience—recording, listening, mingling?
- Tech-readiness: Do you need access to mics, mixers, lighting rigs, or staging?
- Flow & Comfort: Can guests engage without distraction or crowding?
- Cherry on top: Does the space elevate your story?

10 Holiday Team Building Activities That Work
Here are ten (never-awkward) ideas you can plug into your holiday party flow. Each includes tips for group size, time, and how to customize for a Cocoon space.
1. Cocktail or Mocktail Lab: Mix, Sip & Share
How it works: Break your group into teams. Each team crafts one “signature holiday drink” (cocktail or nonalcoholic). They’ll present the name, ingredients, and a backstory (e.g. “The Jolly Garnish”).
Why it works: Encourages creativity, low-pressure competition, tasting, storytelling.
Cocoon tip: Use a Casa with bar space (Casa Joy, Casa Olympia).
2. Holiday Scavenger Hunt (Indoors + Outdoors Hybrid)
How it works: Create a list of clues or holiday-themed “missions” around the venue. Teams solve riddles, collect small objects, take photos, or complete quick mini-challenges.
Why it works: Active, playful, gets people moving, and encourages collaboration.
Cocoon tip: Use a Casa or Discovery Portfolio space with multiple rooms or outdoor access (e.g. Casa Tranquila).
3. Cookie or Dessert Decorating Contest
How it works: Pre-bake plain cookies or mini cakes. Teams get “decorating kits” (icing, sprinkles, candies) and 15 minutes to decorate. A panel votes for best theme, most whimsical, etc.
Why it works: Hands-on, low-stakes, fun for all personalities.
Cocoon tip: Great in Casas with kitchens or long tables like Casa Joy or Casa Lucille.
4. “Who’s the CEO?” Reverse Role Play
How it works: Teams act out a mock scenario with randomly assigned roles (e.g. CEO, intern, ops lead).
Why it works: Encourages empathy, curiosity, and company culture awareness.
Cocoon tip: Use flexible lounge layouts; props optional.
5. Holiday Trivia with Inside Jokes
How it works: Combine holiday trivia (music, movies) and company trivia (team facts, internal stories).
Why it works: Funny, familiar, inclusive.
Cocoon tip: Ideal in Casas with AV like Casa Lucille or Casa Olympia.
6. “Mini Ted Talk” Lightning Round
How it works: Teams brainstorm and present a 3-minute talk on a prompt like “Holiday means to me” or “2026 Predictions.”
Why it works: Builds confidence and fun storytelling moments.
Cocoon tip: Spotlight zones like Casa Duende or stage setups work well.
7. Silent Disco Strategy Game
How it works: Wireless headphones, music, and rotating challenge prompts that teams solve without speaking.
Why it works: Novel and forces creative collaboration.
Cocoon tip: Open floor plan Casas (like Casa Duende) are ideal. Headphone rental available.
8. “Ornament of Intention” Craft & Share
How it works: Decorate an ornament to symbolize a hope or goal, then share it with the group.
Why it works: Reflective and personal, builds real connection.
Cocoon tip: Works in calm, cozy Casas like Casa Victoria.
9. “Gift Swap Story” Game
How it works: Swap anonymous gifts, guess who gave what and why.
Why it works: Promotes play and insight into personalities.
Cocoon tip: Use cozy lounges or residential-style Casas.
10. Charitable Challenge: Build & Donate
How it works: Assemble care packages, wrap gifts, or prep donations together.
Why it works: Values-driven and heartwarming.
Cocoon tip: Coordinate with nonprofits; Cocoon can help via SuperConcierge.

FAQ: Holiday Party Planning & Logistics
When should we book for the holidays?
Prime dates go quickly. We recommend inquiring 8–12 weeks out for November–January. If you’re flexible on weekday evenings, we can often find great options closer in.
What venue sizes work for teams of 30, 60, 120, or 200+?
We’ll guide you to the right fit. As a rule of thumb:
- Up to ~40 guests: Casa Caeli, select rooms of Casa Joy
- 40–100 guests: Casa Joy, Casa Olympia, Casa Janka, Casa Estrella
- 100–200+ guests: Casa FM, Casa Brutal, Casa Duende
Capacities vary by layout (seated vs. standing, stations vs. banquet). We’ll right‑size your floorplan.
Can we combine team‑building with dinner or cocktails?
Absolutely. A popular 3‑hour run‑of‑show looks like:
0:00–0:20 Arrival, welcome mocktail
0:20–1:00 Anchor activity (e.g., Cocktail Lab, Cookie Decorating)
1:00–1:30 Mingle + passed bites
1:30–2:00 Light program (mini talks/awards, 1–2 short speeches)
2:00–3:00 Secondary activity (trivia, craft circle) + dessert / open lounge
Do you help with vendors and facilitation?
Yes. Through Casa Manager and SuperConcierge, we can coordinate licensed caterers/bar, facilitators, DJs, photo/video, rentals, florals, coat check, and more. Prefer to bring your own vendors? That’s welcome too.
What about alcohol service and permits?
Most clients work with a licensed caterer/bar vendor for beer/wine/cocktails. Your Casa Manager can advise on staffing ratios, glassware, and compliance for your chosen venue.
Is AV/Wi‑Fi included?
Most Casas support plug‑and‑play basic AV. For multi‑room sound, mics, projectors, screens, or live‑streaming, we’ll arrange rentals and tech support. High‑capacity Wi‑Fi is available in the majority of spaces; we can advise on bandwidth needs.
How does accessibility work?
Accessibility varies by venue (elevators, entry conditions, interior stairs). Tell us your requirements and we’ll recommend ADA‑friendly options and plan smooth paths of travel.
What if we’re using rooftops or outdoor areas in winter?
We’ll build a weather‑ready plan with heat lamps, cozy lounge layouts, and an indoor backup. Timelines can flex so outdoor moments happen during warmer windows.
How much setup/teardown time do we get?
Your booking includes a defined setup and strike window. Need more time? We can add it to your reservation. Overtime rates vary by venue.
Are there cleaning fees or security deposits?
A standard cleaning fee applies; a refundable security deposit may be requested depending on scope. Your Casa Manager will outline this clearly in your proposal.
Any decor restrictions?
We’ll help you design within venue guidelines (e.g., no open flame unless permitted, no confetti/glitter, use of approved adhesives, protection for delicate surfaces). We’ll make it look elevated and low‑risk.
How loud can we be? Are there quiet hours?
Each venue and neighborhood has its own norms. We’ll align your soundtrack and timelines with local guidelines and your event goals.
What about load‑in/out and deliveries?
We’ll plan vendor arrival windows, elevator/freight use where applicable, and curbside timing. If vendors need a COI, we’ll share the requirements in advance.
Parking and transportation?
Venue pages include nearby transit and parking options. We can set up rideshare zones, VIP drop‑offs, or recommend nearby lots on request.
Do we need event insurance?
Many corporate clients provide a COI (certificate of insurance). If you need help, your Casa Manager can point you to easy options.
Can we brand the space?
Yes — from signage and vinyl to projection and custom builds. We’ll advise on venue‑safe applications and handle production via SuperConcierge.
Will someone from Cocoon be on‑site?
Yes. A dedicated Casa Manager will be on‑site to oversee access, vendors, timeline, and venue care, so you can focus on your guests.
